The University of Canterbury will mark the first anniversary of the 22 February 2011 earthquake with a memorial service on campus.
The service will be held on the Central Lecture Theatre Lawn beginning with music at 12noon. The formal 30-minute service will begin at 12.30pm and will include a two minute silence at 12.51pm in memory of the 184 people who died as a result of the earthquake.
A civic memorial service will be held in North Hagley Park beginning at noon. The 90-minute service will be followed with the presentation of the Christchurch Earthquake Awards.
