UCSA moves to that little bit under the library

You know, that bit at the back corner, kind of near A block – y’know, around the side there…

In only it's second move since arriving on the Ilam Campus in the 1960s, the UCSA has moved its offices to the former Disability Resources space in the James Hight building, under the Central Library.
The move was necessitated by earthquake damage to the UCSA Building in February. The building is still undergoing structural assessment, with its fate to be decided depending on the assessment's outcome.
Since February, the UCSA has been operating out of temporary offices in a prefab building and a converted shipping container in the UCSA car park.
"With the UCSA building out of action, we're looking to try and replicated as many services as offered in other places," said UCSA president Kohan McNab.
"Obviously, development of the undercroft is part of that, and being able to have our UCSA offices in the centre of campus is just another medium term solution for students as well."
UCSA Activities & Events, Welfare & Advocacy, Communications, and Accounts teams are housed in the new offices, along with the UCSA executive. The undercroft student space development, adjacent to the new offices, will continue through this term.
As to the quality of the new offices, McNab commented "They're great. Loving them."
