Student Representative on the University Council
Want to get more involved in the running of the University?
This is your chance - the position of student representative on the University Council is vacant and open for applications!
The University Council is the governing body of the University and has the final say on all decisions made. Membership of the Council comprises a wide variety of people from all sectors of the University and includes seats specifically for student representatives (the other seat goes to the UCSA President).
The University Council meets once a month and does require a time commitment; but, it also provides you with the best chance to have a voice on issues facing the University.
If you think this sounds like an awesome opportunity, then also consider a couple of questions (as a bit of a guide for what we're looking for):
- Do you have a strong interest in student life?
- Do you have some experience in clubs and societies or on committees?
- Do you have strong convictions about what is best for students?
If you have any questions or would like more information, don't hesitate to get in touch. Otherwise, if you're keen to apply, then dust your CV off and send it, along with a covering letter, explaining why you're the best person for this position, to president@ucsa.canterbury.ac.nz.
Applications close on the 7th December 2011.
