How To Find A Cheap Feed

It’s Monday morning. Your week’s student allowance somehow disappeared over the past two nights of sensible binging, and the empty fridge mocks you and your student problems as your stomach lurches for a hangover cure. Now what?

  1. TRAWL WESTFIELD FOR FREE SAMPLES

Pak’n’Save is a hotbed for tasters of weird new yoghurt and fancy hors d’oeuvres you mum serves when she’s trying to impress. Bring an assortment of hats to disguise yourself for seconds and thirds.

  1. DUMPSTER DIVE

You’d be surprised at the amount of perfectly good food supermarkets and bakeries throw out every day. Be sure to don your balaclava, and leave your dignity at home.

  1. LOOK FOR PLACES WITH LOW HEALTH AND SAFETY RATINGS

Meeting the bare minimum sanitation requirements by cost cutting on cleaning and exterminators means that the savings are passed onto you!

  1. HANG OUT NEAR FUNCTION SPACES

On campus, hang out near one of the hireable function spaces, like Undercroft 101 or Ti Kouka. When there’s a function on, good chance there’s some nibbles or canapés too. Just shimmy your way into the function by looking confident and sure you’re in the right place, grab as much free food as you can, and then bolt.
