Rooms For Rent
I haven't had a permanent residence in Christchurch since June 2011. I went on tour for 2-3 months, and then came back and had nowhere to live. I've just been house sitting for friends.

The Handiness of Being British
I have a British passport. I couldn't believe the first time I traveled on it. We came into France. The rest of the band had to line up and shit. And I just walked up and had this thing ready: 'We're here on a promotion tour, we're not making any money.' The guy just looked it, doesn't even stamp it and just hands it back to me. But it took them two hours. I was like, I'm free! To wait by the... nothing...

Vegan Dogs
I met a vegan dog. I was expecting this real sad sort of thing. He was so happy.

I really want a puppy. I've never had a dog. I move around too much to ever get a pet I think.

Sweet Arts Degrees
I did a degree but I never engaged in it. I did a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and Film. Some of it was interesting but for some reason I just was so busy. I got OK grades, I didn't flunk out or anything. But the few times I did engage, you go to a lecture and it was just middle of the road. I think doing BAs in New Zealand is like valium or something.

Awkward Moments
I never put on my own music. Some of my friends' bands always put on their music. And it's this weird kind of thing. Cause you just kind of sit there. And they are like [really happy face near you] 'What's your favorite bit?' Or, 'Wait for this bit! This bit! You hear that?' [And you're like, 'Ahh...'] I have this policy that whenever I play with bands and I borrow something off them, I watch really intensely to find something I really liked about them. Instead of just being like 'Um... You guys are awesome?' You were outside the whole time. 'It sounded great from outside...?'

Sick French Beats
I listen to heaps of French house music. Like Daft Punk and stuff.

Anonymous Framing
I turned up to a party right? It was completely fucking wild. I turned up after work completely sober. This girl comes out, 'Who the fuck lit our couch on fire?' Someone points at me? And all these dudes are like 'Don't fuckin' do that.' I was like, 'I've just come from work! I drove here!' I had this weird medley of all these Eminem verses in my head. All just blending in my head. Always ended with this bit in Stan where he was like - 'Wait. It was you.'

At The Drive-In
One of my favorite bands of all time reformed the other day. At the Drive In. They're playing Coachella. Two of them formed a horrible rock band called Sparta then the other formed a horrible hippy rock band called The Mars Volta so I hope they just agree to forget all that shit and keep ATD going. I drove from the West Coast today back here and I just listened to At the Drive-In the whole way. And my fourteen year old self was like freaking out. They are the quintessential hardcore band. I wish I was going to Coachella. That would be fucking incredible. I think I might go to Primavera. It's a festival in Spain. They're really cool.
