Eat Me

Sweet French Toast


4 eggs
2/3c milk
1 1/2t cinnamon
pinch salt
8 slices stale bread (thicker the better)
2T butter
Fruit, syrup, whipped cream or mascarpone to serve

  1. Whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon and salt in a shallow dish.
  2. Soak the bread.
  3. Fry on medium heat in butter, browning both sides.
  4. Serve w/ fruit, syrup, whipped cream or mascarpone.

Impress Someone

Add 2T grated orange zest to your egg mixture or replace 4T of the milk with sweet liquor (brandy, whisky, triple sec all work).

Alternative: Savoury French Toast*

Replace cinnamon in the egg mix with 1/2 t salt and pepper. Fry eight bacon rashers and four tomatoes before frying the bread, and 100g button mushrooms afterwards (seasoning with salt, pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice afterwards). Divide up and serve with your fresh toast. Om nom nom.
